KILLING NIGHT:

New areas may open up during this time, and you can explore the school in groups of two: No more, no less. (If you have trouble remembering that number, you can think of this time period as “Lovey Dovey Couple’s Night!”)
Don’t try and kill anybody who’s decided to stay in their room* for the night. They’re already sad and alone, y’know?

Clarification: If they have decided to stay in ALONE, that is. Having a sleepover is basically letting the other person explore your room, after all.

If you go out exploring and DON’T kill your friend, you will be rewarded! Win!
If you go out exploring and DO kill your friend, you will be rewarded! More win!
Hanging out with a variety of friends brings even greater rewards! When will the winning ever stop?
The raccoons are allowed to tamper with the crime scene as much as they like
(NEW!) Acting an accomplice, instigator, or manipulator is not forbidden! However, for the purposes of the game, only the person who did the deed is considered to be the killer.

WINNING & LOSING:

After a murder, the group will be given two days to decide who will be punished. If they execute the killer, the group as a whole will receive a reward. If they execute someone innocent, the killer wins and has the option to safely quit the game.
If you can make six different Killing Night friends, “friend” being defined as two people who didn’t kill each other, you win and has the option to safely quit the game.
The last ten surviving players will win as a group. At this point the game will end.
The only way to lose the game is to die.
If everyone survives the Killing Night, there will not be a vote to decide who is punished Instead, the raccoons will simply use the allotted punishment time to execute someone of their choice. :)

2. BRIEFLY list what your character is thinking about doing during the killing phase (no more than two sentences, examples in the comments). It doesn't encompass everything they might necessarily do, but is simply what they most want to do.

5. Cut and paste the other names vertically under the appropriate headers
6. Reply under the current round's comment with your character's name in the subject line

We ask that you C&P character names rather than typing, because all of this data is getting fed into an automated spreadsheet. If there are typos, spelling errors, even just a space at the end of a name, it will break the formula. XL will correct data entry errors if he sees them, but 30 characters means there are 900 cells in the master table. He's not going to see them.

In this fine educational facility for students of all ages, you will be able to refine your Whatever-We-Just-Said-Level ultimate talent and murder each other to your heart’s content!!

Don’t worry about the talent. We gave you one that we think you’re going to love.

You should probably worry about the murder, though.

Premise

This is a short-term murder PSL loosely based on Danganronpa (no canon knowledge whatsoever necessary). Every week, characters decide who they can trust and if they will kill. When someone has been killed, the others will take a vote on who they think did it - if they are correct, the group will be rewarded. If they are incorrect, the killer will be rewarded.

The game is meant to last around two months, starting on the 7th of December, but we’ll have a test drive post up as early as this Saturday. See this post for details about the mechanics and scheduling.

For those of you who do have a slot, you are allowed to change your character without giving up your place, but please let us know before game start if you decide to withdraw completely.

ELIGIBILITY

⚰️ PLAYER: This is a PSL open to RP friends on XL (

misailury) and Courtney’s (

nidorina) Plurk timelines. Anyone on said timelines may also invite a +1.

⚰️ CHARACTERS: Must be a fictional character from a published canon of some sort. Cannot be completely incapable of committing murder (we will provide as much IC incentive as possible). Characters will be completely powercapped.

Currently you may only bring one character. This may change depending on signups.

⚰️ ACTIVITY: We expect some play each week, and there are two deadlines per week - (the IC punishment vote and the OOC trust list). There will be no murders/activity checks on the week that contains Xmas (Dec 21st-27th). Other than that, if you need to take a hiatus/miss a deadline, please let us know. If you disappear without notice, we're just going to have to kill you.

Talent: Upon arriving in the RP, your character will now be insanely good at some role, within the realm of non-magical human ability (Ultimate Lawyer, Ultimate Baker, Ultimate Napper, Ultimate Buttmonkey, etc). What is it?
Murder carrot: A prize that your character would be willing to kill for. Can be just about anything, ranging from the mundane ($1,000,000, a position of power, a really nice hat) to the miraculous (being sent to a different point in time, attaining superpowers, bringing back your dead mentor). If the character is willing to kill simply to survive the RP, you can still put something nice for them here. And if there isn’t any prize that they are willing to kill for, you can N/A here.
Murder stick: A punishment that your character would kill to avoid. For example, maybe there’s a loved one they'd reeeally like to see again, alive and preferably with all of their fingers intact? You CANNOT put an N/A here.

Each OOC week is split into three IC days. We have a calendar here.

🔪	Thurs-Fri - Day/Night 1 - A post is put up Thursday evening, 6pm PST. Murders are announced at this time. - OOC voting goes up (just in case you need to put in a vote early)
🔪	Sat - Day/Night 2 - IC Voting post goes up on Saturday morning, 10am PST - Votes must be in by Saturday 6pm PST
🔪	Sun - Day 3 - Execution/reaction post goes up on Sunday 10am PST - Trust/mistrust sheets must be filled out by Sunday 6pm PST

Mechanics

💣

Each week, players will turn in a list of everyone else in the game, sorted into TRUST, KILL, and IGNORE.

💣	TRUST is passive, and what it means is that your character would be willing to spend time alone with that character during MURDER NIGHT.
💣	IGNORE is also passive. It means that your character will refuse to spend time with that person during the night.
💣	KILL is active and only used if the character is intentionally looking to KILL someone, so if your character is willing to murder everyone there, but that particular night wants to stay in and do a crossword puzzle, you would not put KILL.
💣	In addition, you will also have the option to say yes or no to an OPPORTUNITY KILL. Saying "yes" to this option means that while your character would not go out of their way to kill someone in their "ignore" section, they would if they came across the perfect opportunity to do so. In other words, if somebody has OOCly decided to drop the game, or if we end up with a round in which no murders are slated to occur, your character might end up doing the deed. Only put this if you are prepared to do a random murder, but we WILL double check with you first, just in case.

The list is an entirely OOC activity; the characters will only be aware of whatever they end up doing that night.

In the TRUST and KILL categories, ~~list the characters in the order of IC priority.~~ we are still accounting for priority, but use the "IC plans" section

The mods will go over the lists and then tell you who your character ended up hanging out with that night, which you can then thread out in private.

💕	TRUST-TRUST pairs will be rewarded. They will be able to cite each other as alibis, because they were together all night, and may also receive clues or other goodies. (IC measures will be taken to prevent two people from simply trusting one another the entire game).
💀	KILL-TRUST or KILL-KILL pairs will result in someone dying. However! Just because you have this matchup with someone doesn’t necessarily mean that it will go through, as we’re limiting murders to one at a time (unless the raccoons state otherwise beforehand)
🤷	Anyone you IGNORE will not be able to kill you. But the more people you IGNORE, the greater chance you may end up alone during the night and can become an easy scapegoat for a killer.

The morning after, everyone must VOTE to try and find the killer. The entire group will receive a reward if they guess correctly.

Whether they vote correctly or incorrectly, the person they vote for will be executed

💣

If a killer successfully evades execution, they have a choice:
- They may retire from the game and just hang out for the rest of the RP, OR:
- They may quietly continue on in the game in order to get a chance to kill again for a greater prize.
