NOPE'S PEAK ACADEMY PREMISE/QA

Welcome to Nope’s Peak Academy, a 100% original school for Super Even Better than High School Level Students, copyright us, do not steal! In this fine educational facility for students of all ages, you will be able to refine your Whatever-We-Just-Said-Level ultimate talent and murder each other to your heart’s content!!

Don’t worry about the talent. We gave you one that we think you’re going to love.

You should probably worry about the murder, though.

Premise

This is a short-term murder PSL loosely based on Danganronpa (no canon knowledge whatsoever necessary). Every week, characters decide who they can trust and if they will kill. When someone has been killed, the others will take a vote on who they think did it - if they are correct, the group will be rewarded. If they are incorrect, the killer will be rewarded.

The game is meant to last around two months, starting on the 7th of December, but we’ll have a test drive post up as early as this Saturday. See this post for details about the mechanics and scheduling.

Signups are here, and feel free to deposit any questions you may have in response to this post.

This is where questions go, right...

So if we bring in a Danganronpa character with a different talent, will they still have memories or skills of their original talent, or will either of those be overwritten with the new talent?

this is where questions go!! ya did it

they can keep the memories/skills of their original talent! we wouldn't ask a non-dangan ronpa character lose their regular human skills if given an ultimate title irrelevant to their talents; we aren't going to make danrons lose their skills just because they do have a fancy title in canon

this isn't an AU game fwiw so if you do take a dangan ronpa character from a canonpoint after their time at hope's peak academy they are more than welcome to keep all those memories and also remark on the weird shitty store-brand-ness of everything if they so please

How "real world" do the skills have to be? Niska's a robot but like if she was Ultimate Robot could I upgrade her robotness?

I would say she can have as many robotic "upgrades" as you want as long as they are all dumb and useless.

Like maybe she has waterguns in her fingers (hot on one side and cold on the other?) or a fridge compartment in her back that cools exactly one beer at a time or her head is detachable or her eyes double as laser pointers etc etc etc

How does the powercap work in regards to totally mundane capabilities that are outside the human norm? The hyenas in Grim Eyes's canon depend pretty heavily on their sense of smell, both for tracking/hunting, and as a way to gauge others' emotional states. (Although in a mostly closed-off facility she'd have a lot of difficultly "tracking" anyone anyway, enclosed/subterranean spaces are noted in canon as having extremely muddled scent profiles that make it pretty much impossible to tell when any of the scents were laid down.)

I think that's fine to keep, since it's a mundane and physiological thing.
